Dr Katie Murray
Osteopath
BHlthSc, BAppSc (Osteo)
Katie knew she wanted a career in the health field, specifically in a field where she can help her mum who suffered from a back injury. This is where she discovered Osteopathy. Whether she is addressing acute injuries, chronic pain or optimising movement patterns, Katie’s treatments are focused on restoring function, enhancing mobility and reducing the risk of future injuries.
Katie harbours a genuine commitment to improve the lives of all her patients. She takes time to develop personalised treatment plans that focus on the root cause of pain and dysfunction, not just the symptoms. Katie’s treatment style varies depending on the patient’s needs & includes soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, muscle energy techniques, joint manipulations, dry needling and exercise prescription. Katie has a strong passion for sport; she particularly loves following Manchester City and will watch the games when they are not on too late. She also provides sports team coverage with the Melbourne Ice (AIHL).
Katie is an Osteopath who is continuing to expand her clinical skill set through postgraduate training in Physiotherapy, where she is able to expand her scope and integrate more broader evidence-based rehabilitative care.
Katie graduated from RMIT University with a double degree in Bachelors of Health Science and Bachelors of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Throughout her studies, Katie worked as a Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) certified sports trainer for Strathmore Football Club. She then began to work with SMA, where she currently teaches level 1 sports trainer courses, introduction and advanced taping courses.
Through her years working with athletes, her love for sport has continued to grow. She loves to help her athletes & clients recover from various sporting injuries such as muscle strains, sprains, fractures, dislocations & tendon injuries. Katie has a special interest in treating the lower back, neck, jaw and knees.
